This book is not as carefully and studiously written as I'm used to. It is a far cry from a well researched and carefully stated guide written by nutritionists, doctors, or physical therapists/trainers.

It is very much a collection of casually written blog posts (eg. the phrases "this post", "this blog", "post", and "blog" appear 4, 2, 10, and 6 times respectively). In at least two places, the author says something like (and this is a quote), "I can’t say for sure that this story is true, because I can’t recall the source, so can’t check it out. However it makes a lot of sense." The author readily admits that he's "...not a chemist, nor a doctor" though.

Sprinkled throughout the book is random italicized text written in a different voice. Is this the co-author? Did I miss some introductory text that explained why this italicized text is inserted seemingly at random? It feels clunky.

When talking about foods you can get various micronutrients from, the author doesn't seem to be very careful or realistic. The author recommends, at one point, eating 2 cups of raisons a day. Or blithely comments that "100 grams of cacao powder for example contains 520mg’s of magnesium which is 130% of the RDA" and that you could get this in the form of Cacao nibs as if that is something you can actually eat in a day. For fun, I purchased a 4oz bag of Cacao nibs, which is 114g, or in layman's terms, about 1 Cup. I'm here to tell you that no man that I know could possibly eat 1C of Cacao day after day. It's is not entirely unlike eating wood chips. Getting a single serving of them a day would only yield you roughly 1/6th of the minimum magnesium you need a day (which granted is better than nothing and in combination with other things could probably get you there). These are just two examples of statements he makes when talking about getting macronutrients from food. They're not wrong so much as they are misleading. I feel like even a single sentence thrown in there acknowledging that 100g is actually a lot and suggesting some more realistic measurements (measured in something other than grams) would be very helpful to the average reader not used to seeing things in grams.

I very much feel like I'm reading a blog, or casually talking to a random bro when reading this book.

Definitely very informative book. really eye opening to what certain products and chemicals do to upset the natural balance of our hormones.
Fact-based. Great practical information.
The whole books gives a lot of info ultimately leading to the development and sale of their line of products.
The best book on testosterone I've ever read!
I've implemented some of the advice and feel so much better after 3 months.
Had been taking antidepressants for a year before working on testosterone. Now I don't have to take them anymore )
Great book, valuable information that works. No BS, just solid info. I've been optimizing my T for just over 2 yrs now, this book and Chris's previous one were the resources that helped me immensely.
Extremely well researched and impactful information. I've been struggling with health issues I knew had deeper causes, fighting with and firing multiple health practitioners, and doing all my own research to instruct my doctors fon what tests to run (and being right) for at least a decade. This book filled in the blanks a put the pieces I already had in context. It had IMMEDIATE impact on my health, weight and state of mind. The only reason I didn't give it 5 Stars is structural. It was reconstructed from a blog and less than optimal editing makes that apparent. If you can overlook minor redundancies, spelling errors, etc, this book contains life changing, professionally sourced, research backed, vital information for everyone living in today's unhealthy, poorly regulated food source, world. That goes double if you are male, or have male children.
Due to feeling more worn out in recent years, tired, hard to sleep, wake up, etc., just not my normal self, I bought this book. I already have done a variety of reading about sleep/wake, hormones, neurotransmitters, circadian rhythms, adrenal function, etc., etc.

Some of the things in the book I already had done, but one thing I hadn't ever tried was taking Boron capsules. The book recommended 6-10 mg daily. I cautiously started with 3 mg caps from NOW foods. Within several days I started having more energy, and mental clarity, wow. After another week or so, my skin was getting more oily and would have a few breakout areas. This was on just 3 mg daily. Lately I take 3 mg on alternate days of the week, and a CoQ10 cap on the 'off' days. This is helping with increased energy, increased strength, and less oily skin.

I should re-read the book soon to see what else I learn, only so much gets remembered on a single read. If you are a man, read this book, our world is full of many hormone disruptors, etc. that our dads didn't have, or our granddads.
